Firstly, just to say how impressed I was with everyone’s recent ‘Pirate’ homework! Thank you for supporting your children in their learning and helping to encourage and enthuse them as we embark on this new topic!
Using the hundred square attached, I’d like the children to try and find different patterns – can they find patterns of 2s, 5s, and 10s? How about 3s? What do they notice? How can this help them with their times tables? (They could use a different colour for each one) Practise counting in these equal groups to improve your child’s fluency of knowing their times tables.
I would like the children to continue my handwriting joins on the reverse of this sheet please. Have a look at #meridenyear2 to show how to form these letters and joins.
I have allocated 2 new activities/games on ‘Spelling Bug.’ The one hopes to consolidate their recent learning on commas and the other intends to reinforce these new spelling patterns. Enjoy!
