Use everyday items to build a small bridge—how much weight can it hold?

2. Try some foods which you have never eaten before

3. Take photos of all the technology in your house—can you explain how you use it?

4.  Learn to play a board game with family or friends.

5. Light a candle for Candlemas and write a prayer of hope for 2019

6. Chinese New Year is on 5/2/19—the year of the pig. Draw the animal of the year you were born in.

7. Think of 5 ways on how to keep yourself safe either at home, school or outdoors. Show this on a poster.

8.  Throw and catch a ball with a partner, how many times can you do this without dropping the ball?

9. Set yourself 3 New Year’s resolutions!


To mark the Chinese New Year, use junk modelling to create a Chinese dragon!

11. Bring in your favourite book for your show and tell and share this with the class!

12.  Go for a walk, what do you hear, see, smell, feel?

13. Record how the moon looks on 7 different nights of the month. Can you describe how it changes?

14. Learn all of the number bonds to 10—can you make a song to help you practise?

15. How many shapes can you make using your body? Stretch up tall or get down low!

16. Learn the Tricky Words from Phase 3—Can you think of and write a sentence for them?
