We will be designing and making spacecraft to fly us to the moon, creating a list of items to take to the moon, exploring 2D shapes to create different rockets and space ships, numbering ladders, creating teddy bear crafts and using the iPads to explore Space activities.
To start our teddy bears topic off this term Foundation Stage will be focusing on the book ‘Whatever Next’.
We will also carry out a scientific experiment to see which type of coat baby bear should have taken with him to keep him dry in the rain.
In the Role Play corners, we have set up home areas (bedroom and kitchen) for children to act out the story and also re-enact family routines. Outside we will be playing catch with large balls, jumping around on the space hoppers and lots, lots more!
Please bring in:
Boxes for junk modelling, toilet roll tubes, plastic tubing or guttering and sparkly bits, bottle tops or other bits that we could add to our junk modelling trolley.
Please ensure your child brings their water bottles to school and it is school policy that only water fills them, they are checked on a daily basis and, if required, refilled with fresh water.
How you can support your child in their learning
Nursery -Keep practicing your child’s name and ask them to write their name on any drawings they complete at home.
Reception – Continue to practice letter formation and segmenting words they are familiar with.
FS2 – please practice letter formation and number formation.
Please bring in empty plastic bottles so we can create rockets to send to Space!
